Dragons have slumbered in the earth beneath the city-state of Byle for so long that oil from their decaying bodies saturates the land.

Their dreams form a psionic Network that its citizens inject liquefied Dragon scales to access. Mining both these resources from the earth enabled Byle to experience an industrial revolution. Byle became the cosmopolitan center of the world and was the first to marry machine and gun.

In Trackmarks, you play members of the Blackguard, criminals and conscripts tasked with getting Dragon scales off the streets of Byle by any means necessary. Dragon scales are cooked into an intravenous cognition-enhancing drug that everyone uses; the Blackguard sustain the upper crust’s private reserve. Each shift, Blackguard must meet their quota to escape a city that wants them dead.
